Bare Root Planting at Powell Butte-CANCELLED DUE TO SNOW FORECAST

Unfortunately we had to cancel this event due to the snow forecast. Come join us at Watershed Wide to get your planting fix–March 2. There are still spots left to register but sites are filling fast–here’s the link! https://www.jcwc.org/events/wwe21/
WHAT- RESTORATION PLANTING-We will be planting 250 bare root native plants on top of Powell Butte, an extinct volcano butte with many interesting habitats. Please RSVP
WHEN- Saturday, February 9th, 9am-12pm
WHERE: Powell Butte Visitor Center– 16160 SE Powell Blvd, Portland, OR 97236. Public transit accessible by #9–and be ready for a rousing 1/2 mile walk up the butte to the site. 🙂
WHAT TO BRING: Our events are rain or shine! Please dress for the weather: warm and rain layers, sturdy shoes, and feel free to bring a water bottle or coffee mug to fill up. We will provide snacks, beverages, tools and training.
WHO: Everyone is welcome-if you are under 18 and are planning to attend without a parent or guardian, your parent will need to sign a waiver which you will bring with you to the event. Contact [email protected] to get this waiver!
Not all volunteer positions are planting jobs! We have jobs for multiple abilities. Typical jobs include: Helping people sign in at the registration table, photography/videography, and litter pick-up are typically other options.
