Inside the Hive: Wasps and Bees of the Pacific Northwest

June 24 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Have you ever wondered what goes on inside the hive? We are diving into the world of social wasps and bees of the Pacific Northwest, from beloved bumblebees to often-despised yellowjackets. We’ll be learning about the differences between our local species, their exciting life histories, and the unique ecological roles they play. Plus, we’ll have plenty of stories from our day-to-day work hanging out with bugs and getting stung in the process.

Roby Ventres-Pake and Ariel Devros are biologists, beekeepers, educators, and co-owners of Portland Natural Bee Removal (PNBR). Through PNBR they work to help people understand and live alongside stinging insects, while relocating bees to new homes and removing wasps without the use of pesticides.

This live talk is a part of Johnson Creek Watershed Council’s Community Engagement Series. All talks are live, virtutal, free of cost, and will be recorded.

How to Join: You can join by watching live streamed on our Facebook page on  6/24 7pm  or by going directly to Zoom webinar page (no account needed)  to register for free.
