Habitat Enhancement at Leach Botanical Gardens

Dec 14, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

10:00 am- 1:00 pm

WHAT: Critical blackberry removal project! The Leach Garden Friends, Wisdom of the Elders, the Blueprint Foundation, and JCWC are teaming up with students from David Douglas High School and community volunteers over the next several years to begin native restoration on this “Back 5” acres of the property. This event supports the work that needs to be done to the area. Check out this article for more details!

WHAT TO BRING: Our events are rain or shine! Please dress for the weather: warm and rain layers, sturdy shoes, and feel free to bring a water bottle or coffee mug to fill up. We will provide snacks, beverages, tools and training.

WHO: Everyone is welcome-if you are under 18 and are planning to attend without a parent or guardian, your parent will need to sign a waiver which you will bring with you to the event. Contact [email protected] to get this waiver!

Not all volunteer positions are non-native plant removal  jobs! We have jobs for multiple abilities. Typical jobs include: Helping people sign in at the registration table, photography/videography, and litter pick-up are typically other options.
