MLK Week Finale

January 20 @ 8:45 am - 12:00 pm

When machines and computers, profit motives and property rights are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, materialism, and militarism are incapable of being conquered. – Dr. MLK Jr.
What better way to start off the New Year than by giving back to our community and serving the watershed we all benefit from? You can start 2018 off right by joining us for a Day of Service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his dedication to the Civil Rights Movement and nonviolent activism. Some time will be spent discussing and reflecting on the connections between community, civil rights, and the environment. We will be collaborating with Portland Parks and Recreation, Friends of Errol Heights, and other groups.

WHAT: Planting 250 bare root native plants near the wetland

Volunteers should come dressed for the weather and wearing sturdy, closed-toe shoes and get ready to have fun! We will provide hot drinks, gloves, tools, and guidance.
