Stream Amphibian Eco-Blitz!

July 22 @ 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Register HERE for this Eco-Blitz!

Join Johnson Creek Watershed Council and Portland Parks & Recreation at this Stream Amphibian Eco-Blitz! At this event, volunteer Surveyors will search creeks within the Johnson Creek Watershed to collect data on stream critters, including amphibians. Over the next few years we’ll be cataloging where we have stream amphibians, giving us an idea of water quality and health, and allowing us to alter restoration work in regards to species!

Surveys will be led by local experts familiar with amphibian identification. All training will be provided, no previous experience required. Attendees must be available for all 4 hours of the survey, no partial participation possible. Kids ages 8+ are welcome with an attentive adult. Surveyors must bring weather appropriate clothing and be prepared to get wet (shorts; closed-toed water shoes, or rubber boots if you don’t want to get wet. Pro tip: bring an extra change of clothes for the ride home).

We’ll all meet for welcoming, snacks, and introductions at the beginning of the afternoon, then will split up and spread out to our different sites to survey. We’ll reconvene near the end to share our findings with one another!

Register HERE for this Eco-Blitz!

Why are there two kinds of tickets? At the beginning of the afternoon, we will split into two groups to travel to survey at sites in either SE or Gresham, before reconvening at the start point.
