City Mayor, Ted Wheeler, proclaimed second week of January 2020 to be Slavic and Eastern European Heritage Week.

Melanie Yudin, Johnson Creek Watershed Council Speak Creek Russian language intern, and Tiffany Mancillas, Community Outreach Coordinator, attended the City Hall Proclamation of Slavic Heritage week. Melanie and Tiffany were excited to celebrate the heritage week and hear the proclamation live.

Slavic Empowerment Team (SET)

Slavic Empowerment Team (SET) is a voluntary, employee-driven affinity group that is organized around shared interest in Slavic Culture and/or self- affiliation with a Slavic Cultural heritage. SET is open to any and all employees within the City of Portland regardless of their race, religion, gender, marital status, family status, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, source of income, or veteran status.
