April 2014 –

I am Colter and I am a seventh grader at SWCS. Today was my first day volunteering at the Johnson Creek Watershed Council.  I really like their cause, and feel like if more non-profit organizations such as this one existed, our world would be a much better place.  I’m looking forward on working to improve the Johnson Creek watershed and making it more habitable for animals.

I am Reagan and I am a seventh grader at SWCS. Today was my
first day as an intern with the Johnson Creek Watershed, and I am so excited to come back and help this great cause. I really enjoy learning about new organizations like this one, and learning about what they have to offer to the Portland community. I cant wait to experience the next internship!

Second day – April 2014 –

Today I sorted photos of volunteers, to keep only the very best ones.  I also worked on finding a snake expert for JCWC and a handout for a tree identification.  I can’t wait to go outside and work on Johnson Creek.

Today was my second day here for my internship for JCWC. I accomplished quite a bit, from data entry to designing a handout for a tree identification workshop. We also searched for snake experts to come and run a snake workshop. Today was a good day, and I cant wait to come back next week.

Third week – April 2014 –

I  had a fun time at my third day volunteering at JCWC. I sorted photos mainly, but also tried to find a snake expert and did data entry.  I’m looking forward too next week!

-Colter

I had a great third day here at JCWC. Today I continued doing data entry and deleting photos, and I also emailed a few people about snake experts. Another thing I did was make a new file for the park stewards here at JCWC. Overall, today was a great day!

Fourth week – May 2014 –

Today I found valuable information about western garter snakes.  I also found some charitable golf tournaments.  It was pretty fun and I got to teach another person about JCWC.

Today at JCWC, Colter and I made tickets for an event that is coming up soon. I really enjoyed it, and it was fun to try something new!

-Reagan

Today Reagan and I cut out tickets for an upcoming event.  It was fun and a nice change of pace.
