DESCRIPTION:Grab a pint and explore the wonderful world of Powell Butte’s bird population with us! Tom Virzi\, PhD.\, Executive Director of  Conservation InSight\, will discuss the ongoing grassland bird surveys taking place on Powell Butte\, how the surveys have informed management of the park\, and the future of the program!  \n\nThis event is free to attend\, but please be prepared to purchase a drink and/or food to support Double Mountain Brewing. Thank you DMB for hosting us!!\n\n \nSpots are limited! RSVP is required to attend!\nClick here to RSVP\n \n\nWhat: Powell Butte Bird Surveys Pub Talk\n\nWhen: Tuesday\, March 14th\, 5:30pm-7:30pm. The talk will take place from 6pm-7pm\, but we recommend arriving early to grab a spot to sit and order food and drinks!\n\nWhere: Double Mountain Brewing\, 4336 SE Woodstock Blvd\, Portland\, OR 97206.\n\nWhat to bring: Yourself! And some money to spend on yummy food and drinks!\n\nWhat we provide: We can provide bus fare to and from the event. SUMMARY:EVENT FULL -Park After Dark with Happy Valley Parks and Recreation
DESCRIPTION:EVENT FULL -Registration is Required \nCurious about what (or whoooo) comes out once the sun goes down? Join us as we partner with Happy Valley Parks and Recreation on a guided Park After Dark trail walk in Scouters Mountain Nature Park. Learn how to become more aware of our nocturnal neighbors – we will use our senses to discover what can be seen\, heard\, or even smelled on this fun night walk! You may even find animal tracks\, hear owl calls\, or sneak a peek at some night crawlers. \nIn the week leading up to the Park After Dark walk\, participants will be emailed links to some resources and tips on how to identify night animals by sight and sound\, so that they are well equipped once we hit the trail. On the evening of the walk\, we will meet at the top of Scouters Mountain Nature Park before sunset and JCWC will share some educational insight and lead the way on trails through the park. \nWhen: March 16th 6:45-8:00pm \nWhere: Scouters Mountain Nature Park – 11000 SE Honorable Way \nHow to Prepare:  This event will happen rain or shine\, so dress for weather: rain coat\, warm layers and a hat. Wear sturdy\, close-toed shoes that you can walk in. Bring a filled water bottle.  \nWe will provide: A guided walk in the twilight and dark around Scouters Mountain\, fun activities and the answers to your questions. \nFamily-friendly: This event is FREE and open to participants who are 10+. \nHealth and Safety: We will follow current Oregon Health Authority guidelines.
