SUMMARY:Habitat Enhancement at 7th St. Bridge
DESCRIPTION:Join the City of Gresham and Johnson Creek Watershed Council for a morning of stewardship and habitat enhancement! We will be planting willow\, spirea and dogwood stakes. No experience necessary! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCLICK HERE TO RSVP\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat: We will be planting live willow\, spirea and dogwood stakes. Tasks may shift as needs change on the site. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen: Saturday\, February 10th\, 10 am- 1 pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhere: 7th St. Bridge. The closest address to the site is 685 SW 4th St\, Gresham\, OR.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBy Car: Take NW Eastman Parkway South until SW 7th Street. Take left onto SW 7th Avenue. Project site is on the south side of Creek\, east of the bridge. Parking is available on both sides of SW 7th Street\, you can also park at Main City Park parking lot and walk south on the Springwater trail. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBy Transit: From Portland\, the 9 bus on Powell. Get off at Eastman Parkway and 7th st. Walk south on Eastman Parkway and take a left onto 7th st.  Cross the bridge and the site is on the east side of the bridge.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBy Bike:  Follow the Springwater Corridor Trail to the junction with the Johnson Creek boardwalk at 7th st. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBy Bus: From Portland\, the 9 bus on Powell.Check out Tri-met for more detailed directions from your location.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat to bring: Bring a raincoat or a hat and sunscreen\, as appropriate. Bring a filled water bottle and snacks! You’re welcome to bring gloves and tools\, if you want to use your own. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat to wear: This event will happen rain or shine\, so dress for the weather! Wear long thick pants\, a long-sleeved shirt\, and sturdy shoes you don’t mind getting muddy.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat we provide: Gloves and all necessary tools\, and instruction on how to safely use tools and remove invasive weeds. We can also provide bus fare to and from the event. Please contact sima@jcwc.org to arrange bus fare. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChildren are welcome: Children must be accompanied by an attentive adult. This work is around and near sharp prickly plants and can be challenging for young children. We recommend children ages 12 and up for this type of event. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHealth and Safety: We will follow current Oregon Health Authority guidelines. Masks are not required\, but encouraged in indoor spaces where social distancing is not possible. Stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of any contagious illness or have had recent contact with someone exhibiting symptoms of any illness. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAccessibility: This event may require standing or squatting/kneeling for long periods of time\, walking over uneven ground\, bending and lifting heavy objects.
