SUMMARY:Habitat Enhancement at Errol Heights
DESCRIPTION:Join the Friends of Errol Heights\, Johnson Creek Watershed Council\, and Portland Parks & Recreation at the newly renovated Errol Heights Park for a morning of stewardship! We are working to revegetate areas that were disturbed during the recent construction. This park is home to a plethora of wildlife including beaver\, woodpeckers\, ducks\, and dragonflies! \n\n\n\nCLICK HERE TO RSVP \n\n\n\nWhat: Errol Heights Habitat Enhancement projects include weeding\, planting\, mulching\, and trash pick-up. These needs will change month to month. \n\n\n\nWhen: Saturday\, April 20th\, from 9:30 am – 12:30pm \n\n\n\nWhere: Errol Heights City Park (directions emailed after registration). \n\n\n\nWhat to bring: Bring a filled water bottle and snacks. You’re welcome to bring gloves and tools\, if you want to use your own.   \n\n\n\nWhat to wear: Dress for the weather! Wear long\, thick pants\, a long-sleeved shirt\, and sturdy\, close-toed shoes you don’t mind getting muddy. Bring a raincoat or a hat and sunscreen\, as appropriate. \n\n\n\nWe will provide: Gloves\, and all necessary tools\, plus coffee and snacks. We can also provide bus fare to and from the event. Please contact info@jcwc.org to arrange bus fare. \n\n\n\nChildren are welcome but must be accompanied by an attentive adult. This work is around and near prickly plants and can be challenging for young children. We recommend children ages 10 and up for this type of event. \n\n\n\nHealth and Safety: We will follow current Oregon Health Authority guidelines. Masks are not required\, but encouraged in indoor spaces where social distancing is not possible. Stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of any contagious illness or have had recent contact with someone exhibiting symptoms of any illness. \n\n\n\nAccessibility: This event may require standing for long periods\, walking over uneven ground\, going up or down steep slopes\, bending\, and lifting heavy objects. \n\n\n\nCLICK HERE TO RSVP \n\n\n\nThank you to our funders and partners for supporting watershed health. SUMMARY:Earth Day at 7th St Bridge
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we partner with the City of Gresham to enhance the ecosystem around Johnson Creek! In honor of Earth Day\, we’ll work at the 7th St Bridge site\, which is located near Eastman Parkway and the Springwater corridor trail. The City of Gresham and volunteers planted hundreds of native trees and shrubs here; now it’s time to mulch them! Mulch acts as an insulator\, retains water\, keeps plant competition at bay and protects from erosion. Come join us in taking care of these plants that will take care of us as they mature! \n\n\n\nCLICK HERE TO RSVPWhen: Monday\, April 22nd\, 9:30 am- 12:30 pm \n\n\n\nWhere: 7th St. Bridge. The closest address to the site is 685 SW 4th St\, Gresham\, OR.  \n\n\n\nWhat: We will mulch native plants. Tasks may shift as needs change on the site. \n\n\n\nHow to prepare: This event will happen rain or shine\, so dress for the weather!
