Monday, November 9th  join us at Leach Botanical Gardens to help with restoration work like weeding, planting, and grubbing. This will be a small event with a cap on attendees that match the current laws in Multnomah County regarding event capacity and regulations.

Please sign up on this page for the 9am-11am slot or sign up here for the 11am-1pm slot.

There will be 15 people total at each time frame and Leach Botanical Garden is closed to the general public during our event.

COVID19 Concerns? We will be practicing social distancing physically in this outdoor only event. We will be staggering time so there are only 15 people working at the same time. People will then work in smaller teams or in their own areas, please bring your own water bottle and mask.

Task: Weeding, planting, grubbing, some invasive species removal.

What to Bring: No experience necessary! Wear long thick pants, a long-sleeved shirt and sturdy shoes. Bring a mask, water bottle, rain gear, warm clothes and a clothes you can get muddy in. Instruction, tools, gloves and water provided. Children welcome, and must be accompanied by an attentive adult.

Address and meeting instructions will be sent out to attendees who have registered. Event will be held at Leach Botanical Garden when the garden will be closed to the public to prevent many people on site.

We are working with our partners to hold events only when we can reasonably provide measures to prevent the spread of communicable disease.

Here are the precautions we will be taking at this and other events:

  • Smaller group sizes

  • Provide access to water and soap at project sites

  • Post signs with hygiene protocol at event sites

  • Keep active watch of CDC and County/City Health Department updates

  • Review protocol with all volunteers at the beginning of each project

  • If food is provided, it will be pre-packaged

We ask that our volunteers:

  • Bring and wear a mask

  • Bring their own full water bottle

  • Bring their own gloves for outdoor projects

  • Wash hands thoroughly for 20 seconds with soap and water before coming

  • Maintain social distance from others during events

  • Stay home if sick or have been around someone who is sick or suspect that they have been exposed to the corona virus

  • Bring hand sanitizer (70% alcohol) to share if available

  • Cough and sneeze into tissue or arm/sleeve to avoid spreading droplets

  • Stay home if immunocompromised or susceptible to respiratory infections
