We have so many opportunities for volunteering, including helping out with restoration, stewardship, and wildlife surveys. Or you can take your volunteering to the next level and become a Creek Crew Leader. We could not do the work we do without our volunteers!
Don’t worry if you don’t have experience–we will gladly share what we know and provide the training you will need. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us! We are always excited to work with people that want to make Johnson Creek a healthy, welcoming watershed!
Volunteer at a Habitat Enhancement Event
Our habitat enhancement events run year-round. Depending on the time of year, you can help remove invasive species, spread mulch, or plant native trees and shrubs. These events are typically 2 to 3 hours in length, and group sizes range from 15 to 50 volunteers. We provide all tools, gloves, and equipment, and we may have rain gear and boots available if needed.
Joining us at a restoration event is a great way to get to know our watershed!
Become a Community Science Volunteer
Our volunteer surveyors collect valuable data on salmon spawning, beaver activity, dragonflies and damselflies, and more! We host Community Science programs throughout the year, with different programs in different seasons. We’ll provide everything you need, including how to identify species and methods for surveying. And we want to learn from you, too!

Build Your Leadership Skills as a Creek Crew Leader
Our Creek Crew Leaders are a HUGE piece of our restoration efforts in Johnson Creek! We work with thousands of volunteers each year, and with a small staff, we need help managing our events. We’ll provide the training you need to lead restoration events and to talk to the public about our work. We can’t function without the support of volunteers like you!
