On March 7th, 2026, Johnson Creek Watershed Council, our partners and our volunteers took on one of the biggest events of the year: Watershed Wide!
The weather was overcast to start the day but cleared to sunny skies by the afternoon. 193 volunteers showed up at 7 sites across our watershed to plant, mulch and remove non-native plants and trash along Johnson Creek’s riparian corridor.
With the helping hands of so many volunteers, we:
- Planted over 1,480 shrubs, 545 forbs and 125 trees
- Pulled over 320 sq ft of non-native plants
- Cleared over 121 square feet of trash…
..across the watershed, from the confluence of Johnson Creek and the Willamette River to Boring, OR. To wrap up the event, we fed everyone delicious tamales from Salvador Molly’s.
Thank you to our volunteers and to our Creek Crew Leaders. Thank you to Marlee Eckman for organizing this event. Thank you to all of our funders and supporters for making this event possible.
